Guy Young started with me in August and hit the ground running, helping Lindsay and me (OK, mainly Lindsay) to finish off pruning and wrapping down before budburst. He’s another Kiwi, having grown up in my old stomping ground of Marlborough before studying in Wellington and spending considerable time on Waiheke Island at Goldie Estate. I’m excited to have him join the team in the vineyard and winemaking, as he has a killer palate and a great understanding of international wine styles. He was off on a forklift course (lucky him) when this photo was taken!
Lindsay has unfortunately left us to go travelling around the mainland. Still, I hopeful she’lll return to Tasmania one day, as she is definitely part of the Stargazer family now. To help us out in the vineyard and the winery in the growing season and harvest, Rosario Pinto (appropriately, an anagram of Pinot!) joins us from Argentina. And while she hasn’t worked in a vineyard before, she is already proving to be a quick study and a valuable addition to the team!
