The last few weeks have seen us balance a rather generous crop of Pinot Noir by fruit thinning, hoping to capture the palate weight and intensity the Coal Valley is capable of yielding. The warm and dry weather of the last month has asked a lot of the vines, giving the roots a chance to explore a little deeper in search of water and nutrients.
The new plantings at Palisander are on track for a good crop with Gewurztraminer and Pinot Gris, which are likely to be harvested for Tupelo in another week to ten days.
