The new year got off to a great start for us with the following terrific write up from Stuart Knox at The Real Review for the 2022 Palisander Pinot Noir:
'Vibrant, intense and yet seamless as it rolls across the palate. Dark cherry, amaro herbs and cured pork notes glide without urgency yet there’s an underlying persistence and drive that takes the flow very, very long. Tannins are plush yet focused, leaving a more-ish dryness at the end. An effortlessly powerful wine that intrigues and beguiles.'
With the accompanying score of 98 points (!) that puts us at the top of the tree for Tasmanian Pinot Noirs from the 2022 vintage and as you can see from above, in some very fine company! Taken together with James Halliday's 98 point review, and a recent trophy at the Tasmanian Wine Show, both Bryn and I are pretty chuffed with the reception to this wine! The good news is that there is still some left, and yes - to those of you who have already purchased a 6-pack, I will be turning a blind eye if you decide to order again.
