What's behind the Chardonnay label?

I am often asked about the stories behind the labels on my wines, as each has a unique story. The single-variety wines in the Stargazer range all have distinctive labels based on old postcards, which the National Trust of Tasmania has generously allowed me to use.

The Chardonnay is one of my favourites as it showcases the extraordinary Jurassic dolerite pillars at Cape Raoul on the Tasman Peninsula. This distinctive geology is found throughout Tasmania (I can see the Organ Pipes of Mt Wellington/Kunyayi from my front door in Hobart) and it also underpins Palisander Vineyard; as I kept saying to myself throughout the development of the vineyard and the considerable time we spent rock clearing, ‘no pain, no gain’!
