Tasting Room Details

When we were building our tasting room here in the Coal River Valley, the brief was that every single corner should tell a story of local craftsmanship, our Tea Tree environment and our main pursuits - grape growing and winemaking.

They say beauty is in the smallest details, and our guest washrooms are no exception.

The striking, textured concrete basins you see here refer to both the concrete water troughs used at local farms and also the concrete vessels used in winemaking (such as our own concrete eggs which we employ for the Palisander Riesling). The copper pipes and faucet are another agricultural and historical winemaking reference. Meanwhile the tile colours reflect the moody Tea Tree subregion, the green reflecting our winter hillsides.

And because a Tasmanian winter morning does not play around, we’ve hidden one more thoughtful detail that you can’t see, but will definitely feel: fully heated flooring to offer a cozy, warm sanctuary from the outdoor chill.
