The 2024 Palisander Pinot Noir is the ninth release of Pinot Noir from our home vineyard in Tea Tree.
It’s a special bottling that captures the evolution of our site, blending fruit from our original 2004 plantings with the newer blocks and clones (Abel, 115, 777, and MV6) we planted in 2017.
This is what Max Allen had to say recently about the 2024: ‘The current vintage, the 2024, is particularly good: bold, dark cherry colour, tangy and concentrated, structural, sinewy with great depth and length.’
I included 25% whole bunches in the ferment to add lift and structure. After 10 days on skins, it was basket-pressed and aged for 8 months in French oak puncheons. It’s a pure, honest expression of the Coal River Valley's dry, warm 2024 season.
